This woman is my hero

Sat May 03, 2008 at 10:31:29 AM PDT

While the various polls show women over 50 or 60 supporting Hillary Clinton, there is still an incredible contingent in that demographic who passionately support Barack Obama.

In particular, I am humbled by and tremendously proud of one of these amazing women; she is and always has been, my greatest role model. This "woman of a certain age" is intelligent, compassionate, loving, articulate, strong-willed, and generally all around fabulous.

And one more thing about my mom -- let me tell you -- this lady is opinionated and it's absolutely inspiring to know her and to listen to her.

My 63 year old mother -- let me share her with you.

[UPDATED] Wolfson: "Not sure Joe Andrew is actually from Indiana..."

Thu May 01, 2008 at 12:02:09 PM PDT

From the "Just when I think there is nothing left to hear from the Clinton campaign that will surprise me any longer" category...

Well, I guess it's just the gift that keeps on giving. Today, in an interview with Andrea Mitchell, Howard Wolfson made some weirdo point of suggesting that Joe Andrew isn't actually from Indiana (only originally.

One of the 47 MILLION reasons to vote this November

Mon Apr 28, 2008 at 12:06:59 PM PDT

What started out as a lovely and peaceful Sunday morning quickly morphed into an unexpected three hour slog to the local Urgent Care facility and a couple of trips to the drugstore. More importantly, it also brought me an unexpected glimpse into my own past as it collided with our collective and devastating present.

Yesterday, as I sat enjoying my morning coffee and settling down to read more than a few excellent diaries here on dKos, my 16 year old daughter made an unexpectedly early morning arrival in the living room. Now this is a girl who loves her sleep and waking up early on any weekend morning is generally a sign that something has gone bad wrong in her 16 year old universe.

So when my teenager stirs on the weekend at any hour followed by the a.m. designation, I am pretty well guaranteed that some drama is unfolding and yesterday was no exception.

Great New DNC Ad on John McCain - [Updated]

Tue Apr 22, 2008 at 03:09:24 PM PDT

Though I doubt this will penetrate through all the PA primary news (noise?) this afternoon/evening, I thought is was important information to share with everyone.

This afternoon within 10 minutes of turning on MSNBC (it's around 4:50pm CDT) I saw the first DNC advertisement targeting John McCain.

The transcript and video are below the fold for your viewing pleasure...

Please return to your seats immediately

Sat Apr 19, 2008 at 09:41:03 PM PDT

Ladies and Gentlemen, the captain has turned on the "Fasten Seatbelt" sign.  Please return to your seat and fasten your seatbelt securely around your waist.

Well folks, it's that time again (PA here we come!). And my guy Barack Obama is building momentum in the polls - he could totally win PA! Except for where he is losing it. CRAP.  It's Ohio all over again.

But, but, even the media saw through the ridiculous farce that ABC called a debate. So what is wrong with the POLLS? OMG - Hillary Clinton is so yesterday - it's o-ver people! Whoop-dee-do!

I don't know about the rest of you but it looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking.  And drinking.

My bad habits?  Let me show them to you....
