The Clinton campaign is using the tried and true Republican campaign tactic of push polling. Check it out after the fold.

The "swing state" fallacy

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 08:24:44 AM PDT

I have heard the argument that Clinton has won more "swing states" than Obama and this is given as some amazingly irrefutable indication of Hillary's superiority as a general election candidate.

Below the fold is an expansion of a comment I made to someone dusting off this old hypothesis.

I'm back in 7th grade - Clinton's baiting

Mon Apr 14, 2008 at 12:26:25 PM PDT

I just had a flashback and not in a good way.

I just had a flashback of the 7th grade. I remember this little pain in the ass girl (sorry folks but she was a girl), who lived to cause trouble. For starters, she was a busy-body-know-it-all who was forever in everyone's business. I have vivid recollections (real ones not the fabricated variety) of her saying her favorite line: "Did you hear what Mary said about you?"

What does the US voter have to be bitter about?

Sat Apr 12, 2008 at 09:26:27 AM PDT

In a never-ending attempt to make something out of nothing, both the Clinton and McCain campaigns are trying to get mileage out of Barak Obama comment that some PA small town voters are bitter about government. Of course Clinton, claims she has only seen hope and hard work. Who knows where she's been looking. McCain (a guy born into a family with two admirals who graduated 5th from the bottom of his class at the academy yet still got his wings) is trying to paint Obama as an elitist. Let's take a look at some of the things some of us are bitter about and see who is elitist, out of touch and has there head up their, err, in the sand.

Stimulus Checks for Change

Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 10:17:28 AM PDT

After careful speculation, I have come to the conclusion that one of the surest ways to make sure my stimulus check really works for the US economy is to donate part of it to the Obama campaign. I can be sure the money is spent within the US economy employing US workers. The stories of the Clinton campaign not paying some of their bills really turned a light on in my head. There are many small US businesses that do work for political campaigns. This economy has hit small businesses particularly hard.

How to re-elect a president and lose seats in Congress

Mon Mar 31, 2008 at 07:09:06 PM PDT

I was talking to a friend at work and he couldn't believe that we lost seats in Congress when Bill Clinton was re-elected. The idea was completely foreign to him. The explanation, as I see it, is as simple as the principles of "divide and conquer" political campaigns.
