The Human Cost: Nadia Khalaf

It is my belief that the only way war is endurable is through the dehumanization of the "enemy". We think in terms of targets, so when bombs are dropped there is very little to no acknowledgement needed for the lives they take or destroy. Iraqi casualties are reported in numbers, not names and faces.
So in the spirit of IGTNT, I'm beginning a series of diaries introducing us to and honoring the Iraqis who have lost their lives because of American aggression. This first one will be sourced entirely through online sources, but in the future I hope to be in contact with Iraqis who can further personalize the stories that will be told. If anyone knows any Iraqis who have lost friends or family as a direct or indirect result of our occupation, please contact me. My email is in my profile.
